9th January - Welcome to 2023 Evening
We will be meeting up at The Roundhill Club (Roundhill Rd, Castleford WF10 5AE) at 7pm
On our first meeting in 2023 we will be hosting an open evening which will have a whole host of activities available, such as Still Life, Portrait Photography with a model and some other activities too. If you are not a member of Castleford Camera Club yet this is a great evening to come and meet us all.

16th January - Mastering Shutter Speed
We will be meeting up at The Roundhill Club (Roundhill Rd, Castleford WF10 5AE) at 7pm
This evening we will be running the shutter speed workshop “Mastering Shutter Speed” As this name suggests it is aimed at beginner photographers and it may also help existing photographers brush up on the exposure triangle settings. It will be mostly a practical evening which you will be honing in your skills on our Shutter Speed set ups to really get to know how to master your shutter speed.

23rd January - Creatively using shadows in your photography
We will be meeting up at The Roundhill Club (Roundhill Rd, Castleford WF10 5AE) at 7pm
This evening will really bring out your creative flair as we demonstrate how you can use shadows in your photography. This part of the programme is also here to help anyone struggling for inspiration for the Shadows Competition which is our first theme for our 2023 annual competition.

30th January - Model Evening - HATTIE BYRNE FIRE PERFORMER
We will be meeting up at The Roundhill Club (Roundhill Rd, Castleford WF10 5AE) at 7pm
We have the fabulous fire breathing model Hattie Byrne lined up for the evening, this will take place at the rear of the Roundhill Club, at the side of our container. So it is advised to wrap up warm, if the weather is too bad ie raining the Hattie will be modelling inside for us.

This evening will be perfect for you to learn how to prepare your images for competitions, both print and Digital Projection.

20th February - Water Colours
We will be meeting up at The Roundhill Club (Roundhill Rd, Castleford WF10 5AE) 7pm
This will be a fabulous evening in which you can get really creative by using water colour paints, inks and other fluids in water to create some really pretty and abstract pieces of art. If you have any paints that you think would work well, please bring them along, also any interesting glassware that would look good.

27th February - An evening with an Anime Model
We will be meeting up at The Roundhill Club (Roundhill Rd, Castleford WF10 5AE) 7pm
Finney Bulmer will be modelling for us, Finney is a Cosplay model and will be dressed as a character called Ciel Phantomhive from the black butler Anime series.
This is sure to be a great evening and a chance to get some great images of something a little different. .

Captian Jack Sparrow will be modelling for us, of course we couldnt afford to get the actual Johnny Depp into us but we have the next best thing with this authentic cosplayer called Dan. This will be a fantastic evening for everyone.

Food Photographer Deepti Jain will be joining us to do a talk and presentation of her stunning food photography, this evening will be split into 2 parts, the first part being the presentation and the second part a practical. Deepti has kindly agreed to do a little set up of food for us to photograph, so cameras and tripods will be needed for what is set up to be an excellent nights photography that will certainly get your mouths watering and creative juices flowing

Macro Lighting specialists ADAPTALUX will be joining us for the evening. They will provide a presentation and also a demonstration on their fantastic and unique Macro Lighting systems. Following the presentation we also get the opportunity to try out this amazing equipment for ourselves.

The Paint in water is a technique that will bring out your creative flair by photographing paint and maybe other liquids injected into water to create abstract and pretty patterns. Cameras and Tripods will be needed, if you have any macro lenses please also bring these along too.
The Photo-Elasticity has always proved a very popular activity for us when we have done it before, with the help of a UV filter and a digital device screen such as an Ipad or laptop we will be photographing clear plastic objects creating psychedelic style images

Tuesday 21st November - Christmas Portraits at Castleford Library

We will be volunteering at Castleford Library taking the Christmas Portraits of Children & Families that are visiting the Library. As a club we do this every year and offer portraits with a live printing, the families then purchase the prints at a cost of around 50p which goes to the library.
We do need volunteers for this event, so it would be much appreciated if we could get some help with this. If you would like to volunteer please contact David Hartley for the details.

The winners of our internal competitions will all be receiving a trophy along with the overall winner with the highest points throughout the year. There will also be some special awards given out too on the night. The Awards will be presented The Mayor of Wakefield Josie Pritchard.
After the presentations we shall be having Beef sandwiches and a good old pint.
