Castleford Camera Club's Christmas party and presentation night is a celebration of the club's achievements and the festive season.

A night of explaning the exposure triangle which is a photography concept that illustrates the relationship between aperture, shutter speed, and ISO, which together control the overall brightness of an image. Each of these three elements can be adjusted to achieve a desired exposure, but changing one will affect the others, requiring a balancing act to maintain the correct exposure. 

 "Screw City Photography," the term "Screw City" refers to a miniature cityscape made of screws and hardware bits, not a specific location.

Fruit splash photography is a genre of food photography that captures the dynamic moment of fruit entering water, focusing on the energy, color, and movement of the splash itself. It involves high-speed photography to freeze the motion of the fruit and splashing water, often using techniques like high shutter speeds and composite editing to create a striking, artful final image.

A speedlight is a portable, battery-powered flash unit that photographers use to add light to a scene, either mounted on a camera's "hot shoe" or positioned separately and triggered remotely. This type of flash is known for its versatility, portability, and speed, making it popular for event, wedding, and location photography.

Toy photography is a genre of photography that uses toys as the subject to tell a story or create a scene. It involves using creative techniques like posing, lighting, and composition to bring toys to life. Key aspects include setting up a believable scene, using a tripod for stability, and adjusting camera settings like aperture for depth of field to focus on the toy.  

Smoke photography captures the abstract shapes of smoke using a dark background and a light source, like a flash, to illuminate it against the darkness. 

Photoelasticity photography is a technique that uses polarized light to reveal stress and strain patterns as colorful, abstract designs in transparent, birefringent materials, most commonly plastics. This method transforms otherwise invisible mechanical properties into visually striking images.

Minimalist still life photography is a genre that emphasizes simplicity, clean compositions, and minimal elements to highlight the form, texture, and essence of everyday objects.

High-speed photography of vibrating paint on a speaker diaphragm, where sound causes the paint to "dance" and splash, creating abstract shapes.
